The ArchivoyMemoria
Portal seeks to become a reference point for the gathering and
dissemination of information about the construction of
historical memory and its documental sources. The aim is to
“build bridges” between historians, anthropologists, archivists,
literature specialists, librarians and museologists, among
others, thereby forging links between research projects and
documentation and archive professionals.
This initiative, devised by the Archivo Histórico Ferroviario
(AHF, Railway History Archive) of the Fundación de los
Ferrocarriles Españoles (FFE, Spanish Railway Foundation) and
the Grupo de Investigación Antropológica sobre Patrimonio y
Culturas Populares (GIAP, Group for Anthropological Research on
Heritage and Popular Cultures) of the Centro de Ciencias Humanas
y Sociales (Humanities and Social Sciences Centre) of the
Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC, Higher
Council for Scientific Research), seeks to promote, through the
organisation of Conferences and the collective efforts and
projects of other institutions, the dissemination of these
Conferences, and to provide information and publicise all the
projects related to these subjects.
